Pet Care is a complete system for the welfare of pets. In particular we refer to medium-sized animals, such as dogs that often are left at home alone because of their owners' large amount of daily tasks or even abandoned when the owners can't bring with them on vacation. Our system must be used at home and aims to physical well-being of pets, in particular is designed to satisfy natural needs such as hunger and the desire to move. The user can decide when the system has to dispense food, whereas the system dispenses water, such that the water level in the bowl is kept steady. Food and water are provided by automatic dispensers.
Moreover, our system can overview the well-being of our pet via environment conditions and message the user about pet’s unusual behaviours. The system provides if the pet ate and sends a messange informing the user. The system uses a weight sensor under the bowl controlling if the pet consumes food. Food and water levels into the dispensers are evaluated through sensors, taking over critical levels and they also warn the user in case of necessity. For the phisical well-being, if the pet remains in its pet's bed for too long, during the day, the system starts up a ball moving automatically so that the pet can play. In this way our pets can make daily physical activity.
AmI step | Description |
---|---|
Sensing | The system uses sensors to control level's food and water in the bowl and in the dispenser. |
Reasoning | The system can modify the amount of water released through the water-amount sensor, and can decide when to activate the ball. |
Acting | The system can automatically release food, and activates the ball. |
Interacting | The system messages the user about the eventual system critical levels of water and food, and allows the user to schedule daily time slots for food dispensing. |
AmI feature | Description |
---|---|
Sensitive | The system is able to "understand" if the pet stays in the bed fo too long, "controls" water and food amounts in all the dispensers processing data provided by sensors. |
Responsive | The user can leave the pet alone ensuring the respect of the right time slots for activities during the daily routine, and primary necessity. |
Transparent | The system is transparent because the technology used is indistinguishable from the environment. |
Intelligent | The system is able to monitor the pet's condition and is able to modify the pet's behaviour, allowing it to play with the ball. |
